The mentoring program is back for 2021. Our mentoring program offers the opportunity for new School of Health Science PhD students to to be paired with a second, third or fourth year PhD student, to help them make their way through the graduate studies landmine. While there may be some differences this year due to everyone working online, we’re hoping to still run an effective program to help new PhD students integrate into their studies.
For this program to work, we need volunteer mentors. Students who are willing to help out new students when they have a question.
What is the role of the mentor?
Organise meetings with their mentee to discuss their progress and answer any questions the student might have that they don’t feel comfortable asking their supervisor/s. This relationship will vary between mentors/mentee partnerships, and expectations for the partnerships will be discussed early on.
